Steve Prziborowski is the Deputy Chief of Training for the Santa Clara County (CA) Fire Department, where he has served since 1995. He is also an instructor for the Chabot College (CA) Fire Technology Program, serving and instructing in various capacities since 1993.
Steve was awarded the 2020 Ronny Jack Coleman Leadership Legacy Award by the Center for Public Safety Excellence (CPSE), is a Former President of the Northern California Training Officers Association, a Former Executive Board Member for the California Fire Chiefs Association, and was named the 2008 California Fire Instructor of the year.
Steve has a Master of Science degree in Emergency Services Administration, is a California state certified Master Instructor and Chief Officer, has completed the Executive Fire Officer Program at the National Fire Academy, and has been credentialed as a Chief Fire Officer and Chief Training Officer through the Center for Public Safety Excellence. Steve has a passion for helping individuals with career development, including getting hired and getting promoted, and with ultimately being the best they can be.
Steve is a member of a number of fire service related associations and organizations, including the International Association of Fire Chiefs. Since 2010, he has served as a member of the Program Planning Committee for the International Association of Fire Chiefs's annual Fire-Rescue International Conference.
Steve is a contributing editor to Firehouse Magazine and to FireNuggets.com. Steve is a regular speaker at fire service events across the country, and has authored numerous articles in all of the leading fire service publications. Steve recently published 3 books: “How To Excel At Fire Department Promotional Exams,” “The Future Firefighter’s Preparation Guide,” and “Reach For The Firefighter Badge.”
