Bio

I have 30+ years of experience in the fire service, starting as a Volunteer Firefighter with the City of Port Orchard Fire Department, and later promoting to Volunteer Lieutenant where I really got my first chance to start instructing. After serving 7 years as a volunteer I was hired on as a Career Firefighter with South Kitsap Fire and Rescue and was promoted 9 years later to Lieutenant. I served as a Lieutenant for 8 years where I instructed Firefighter 1 and 2 curriculum, as well as Hazmat Awareness and Operations. Instructing has always been a passion, I enjoy passing along knowledge to our next generation of Firefighters and future Officers. I landed my dream position this year when I moved across the State and took the post of Deputy Chief /Training Officer with the Pullman Fire Department. I have since been promoted to Assistant Fire Chief - Support Services. As part of the succession plan for the East Valley Fire Department, I took the position of Deputy Chief and oversee the department's operations and training; in August 2024, I was promoted to Fire Chief.

I also chair the board for the Washington State Fire Training, Safety, and Officers section of the Washington Fire Chiefs Association. As part of my duties on the board, I am the State Coordinator for the WFC's Emergency Vehicle Incident Prevention program. Starting in 2024, I am also chairing the Yakima County Training Officers Association.
