  • IAFC to Create New Resource for Operations Chiefs

In today's rapidly evolving fire and rescue departments, making complex decisions is more demanding than ever. Joining forces with your colleagues to understand and benchmark these complex issues before, during and after policy and program implementation will greatly enhance the effectiveness of your programs and your organization. Building those links between policy, practice and people is currently underway with an emerging IAFC program called OpsNetlink. We're looking for energetic operations chiefs who are interested in contributing to the OpsNetlink's design and operation development process. The OpsNetlink program is a new resource for operations (ops) chiefs being launched by the IAFC this fall. Subscribers to OpsNetlink will receive weekly critical issue dossiers from the OpsNetlink Research Center, each of which will contain information on a topic relevant to ops chiefs. In addition, all OpsNetlink subscribers will have the opportunity to participate in a secure online community with their peers. This new program is open to both IAFC and non-IAFC members. We're now assembling an advisory committee of ops chiefs to assist us with topic identification, content development and review of the weekly dossiers. If you're interested, please send an email to Vicki Lee, program manager, at vlee@iafc.org with: - your complete contact information - list of your particular areas of operations expertise/interest - resume or summary of your qualifications
