David Burke is Chief of Duvall-King County Fire District 45, a combination department with 30+ firefighters, of which 10 are career members. The department serves the City of Duvall and an additional 50 square miles of unincorporated King County. It is a full-service organization (fire, EMS, hazmat, wildland, rescue, and public education) that averages 1000 calls for service per year.
Chief Burke has 25+ years experience in the fire service, with an associate degree in Fire Protection Technology, a bachelor’s degree in Public Safety Administration, and a master’s degree in Executive Fire Service Leadership. He also is a Executive Fire Officer (EFO) graduate, has achieved the Chief Fire Officer (CFO) designation and recently was named as a National Fire Academy Instructor. His professional affiliations include: Institute of Fire Engineers (IFE), International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC), National Fire Protection Administration (NFPA), and the National Society of Executive Fire Officers (NSEFO).
