Glenn Huffman became a volunteer Firefighter in 1987 at the age of 16. Hired as a career Firefighter in 1994, he was appointed to first class in 1997 and was certified as a Washington State Journeyman Firefighter in 1999. In 2001 Glenn climbed the ranks and was promoted to Lieutenant. Showing strong leadership skills he was promoted once again in 2006 to Captain, at which time he spent one year serving as Training Captain. Finally, Glenn became a Battalion Chief in 2009.
Glenn holds an Associate of Art degree in Fire Command and Administration, as well as several certifications in specialized areas. During his tenure Glenn has also had the opportunity to serve on the technical rescue, swift water and wild land firefighting teams, special ad-hoc committees and the IAFF executive board for Local 2878.
Finally, in 2009 Glenn was elected Fire Commissioner for Kittitas County Fire District 2, which services the community in which he lives with his wife and two children.
