I have been in the fire service since 1974, first serving as a volunteer firefighter in Shelby County, Tennessee, and then starting with the Germantown Fire Department as a volunteer in 1977, and retiring as Germantown's fire chief on July 31, 2011. I served as a Fire Management Consultant for the University of Tennessee’s Municipal Technical Advisory Service (MTAS) from August 1, 2011 until December 31, 2021. I am currently retired.
