Volunteers Needed for PSCR Video Experiment

HI All,

I sit on the Leadership Team for DHS S&T's Video Quality in Public Safety (VQiPS) committee. A significant body of work includes ongoing research and Requirements development for use of video in the public safety communities.

We support a lot of smart people in the course of this research like the Public Safety Communications Research forum (PSCR) and their labs in Colorado. That said, the PSCR is conducting a study on Video Quality and is seeking volunteers from the Public Safety Community (Dispatchers, Law Enforcement, Fire and Medical Services) to assist them at their facility. Invitational travel is authorized for this research.

I wanted to route this to you to expand our outreach in support of this test. Any interest in participation can be directed to Joel Dumke at PSCR (jdumke@its.bldrdoc.gov ).

See below for details. Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks all! Stay safe out there!

Subject: Volunteers Needed for PSCR Video Experiment

The Public Safety Communications Research (PSCR) program is seeking volunteers to participate in an experiment that will be conducted by the Public Safety Video Quality (PSVQ) project. Participants should be public safety practitioners (Police, Fire, EMS, Dispatch, etc.), active or retired, from across the United States. If you are receiving this email, it's likely that you have participated in previous experiments or in the Video Quality in Public Safety (VQiPS) working group.

 T
HE EXPERIMENT

If you participate in this test, you will be asked to watch several video clips in a quiet, air conditioned room. After each clip, you will answer a multiple choice question about the content of the video. The test is expected to take approximately 90 minutes. Participants may take breaks as needed. The goal of the experiment is to investigate the new H.265 (HEVC) video codec. This technology will likely be implemented in a wide variety of video equipment for the next decade or longer. The results of this experiment will help PSCR make recommendations to public safety practitioners about how to get the most from their video systems.

SCHEDULING

Testing runs Monday through Friday, July 21st through August 29th. Each testing day has the following four time slots:

 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM

I see nothing in the link but a blank calendar, is that correct?
